The Rog Autonomous Factory is celebrating the twelfth anniversary of its creative work! It’s composed of over twenty collectives and individuals, and during this time has become a huge lively core of various practices, ideas, insanity and defiance. We defy gentrification, which puts bars into the city, and locals out of it! We defy capitalism that concentrates power in the hands of a handful, while we’re robbed of everything, including our dignity. We defy the alienation of our own lives!
Above all, we’re defying the outrageous position of the City Municipality of Ljubljana, which tries to exhaust by means of litigation, individuals who are, like many other Rog users, building a cultural, musical, graphic, feminist and queer, graffiti, sk8er, inclusive, migrant, community of creativity, solidarity, activism, circus, martial arts, relaxing, movement, theatre, concert, arts, sports, and crafts.
This celebration will be joined by a gathering of donations to cover the court costs of property claims, which the City of Ljubljana has launched at nine Rog users, and whose final estimate of the projected costs is between € 30,000 and € 40,000.
We built an autonomous space, and every day that we fight for this autonomy we’re building different social ties based on openness, comradeship, non-hierarchy and opposition to authority. When we fight for Rog, we fight for our own future.
